On January 11th, 2023, 56-year-old Bille Davis saw an 18-year-old Asian student riding a public transit bus to an Indian university.
When the student arrived at her stop and stood up, Davis attacked her and stabbed her seven to 10 times.
The student exited the bus in pain, and Davis sat down like nothing happened. After passengers confronted her, she got off the bus. Someone followed her and told the police where she was.
After authorities arrested Davis, she referred to the victim as “some Asian fucking cunt.”
She was hit with state charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, and battery with a deadly weapon. She was facing decades in prison. Later, she was hit with federal hate crimes charges, and the state charges were dropped.
On September 17th, 2024, Davis pleaded guilty to the federal charges of willfully causing harm to a victim because she was Chinese.
On December 11th, 2024, sentenced to six years in federal prison.
She is scheduled to be released on February 20th, 2028.
