Childhood

Christine Marie Paolilla was born in Long Island, New York, on March 31st, 1986. Her father, Charles, died in a construction accident when she was two. After that, her mother, Lori, started doing drugs, and Christine’s grandparents took custody of her and her brother.

On top of her family issues, Paolilla had to deal with her hair falling out due to alopecia. She had to wear wigs and draw on her eyebrows. She also wore thick glasses to correct her poor vision. Her unusual look lead to people to make fun of her appearance. The constant bullying affected her self-esteem.

After her mother got clean and remarried, Christine reconnected with her. They soon moved to Clear Lake City, Texas.

Paolilla enrolled at Clear Lake High School, but unlike before, she was accepted. Rachael Koloroutis and Tiffany Rowell were two of the most popular girls at the school. They took Paolilla under their wings and taught her to dress better, look more attractive, and be more confident.

That led to her classmates voting for her as Miss Irresistible.

In addition to a bunch of new friends, she had a new man. She met 21-year-old Christopher Lee Snider through a mutual friend, and they soon became a couple.

Paolilla’s mother, stepfather, and friends weren’t fans of Snider. He was older, had a criminal record, and used drugs. They thought he would negatively influence Paolilla, and they were correct, as she started to abuse illegal substances.

Crime

On July 18th, 2003, Rowell, Koloroutis, Rowell’s boyfriend, Marcus Precella, and Precella’s cousin, Adelbert Sanchez, were hanging out at Rowell’s home in Clear Lake City.

Paolilla and Snider stopped by but weren’t there to chat or play video games. They are there to steal drugs.

They allegedly shot Rowell, Koloroutis, Precella, and Sanchez multiple times, and then they left the home with drugs and other items. Paolilla went back in and saw Koloroutis crawling to a phone. She bashed her head in with her gun. In the end, all four died.

Snider took Paolilla to her shift at Walgreens an hour after the crime.

Precella’s cousin discovered the grisly scene when he stopped by later that day, and he contacted authorities.

Detectives had little physical evidence, but neighbors reported seeing a tall male and a short female with long dark hair rushing from the home.

People alleged that Precella sold drugs from the home, so that was a focus of the case.

Snider and Paolilla’s relationship ended in 2004 after Snider got locked up in Kentucky for stealing a car. Paolilla went to rehab in Kerrville, Texas. In November 2004, she met heroin user Stanley Justin Rott. He was also trying to get clean.

Rott and Paollila fell for each other, and they started dating. Things moved fast, and they got married in March 2005. Around the same time, Paolilla got her hands on a $360,000 trust fund that her father had set aside.

She bought an apartment while blowing the rest of the money on drugs. Soon, she confessed to her husband that she was involved in the 2003 quadruple murder in Clear Lake. She was scared someone would ID her from police sketches, so she and Rott started living in a motel, where they spent their time doing heroin and Cocaine.

Arrest

On July 8th, 2006, an anonymous man called Crime Stoppers and told them that he had been in rehab with Paolilla, and she revealed that she was involved in the murder.

Eleven days later, authorities tracked her down in San Antonio, Texas, and arrested her. Rott was also arrested because the couple had drugs in their room.

Rott revealed himself to be the anonymous tipster and told detectives everything he knew while his wife sat in a separate room and denied she was involved in the murder. Eventually, she confessed but said Snider was at fault.

Two days after her arrest, she was charged with capital murder. Snider was living in Greenville, South Carolina, and when a relative told him police had a warrant out for his arrest, he decided to kill himself using prescription medication. He was found dead in the woods on August 5th, 2006.

Paolilla went to trial and was convicted of four counts of capital murder on October 13, 2008. The following day, she was sentenced to 40 years to life.

She will be 60 at her first parole hearing in July 2046.
