First Murder
He was involved with the Wisconsin Conservation Corps job program to learn carpentry and was promised a job by his supervisor Edward Patts. Unfortunately, Patts was fired and the new supervisor decided not to bring Scarver on full-time.
Scarver, a high school dropout and future father, had drinking problems since he was a teen.
He started drinking even more after the job did not materialize. Feeling like he was discriminated against and stressed about having a baby on the way and no income, he had revenge on his mind.
On June 1, 1990, Scarver went to the Wisconsin Conservation Corps job office with a gun. He made 27-year-old Steve Lohman, a job training worker, lay on the ground while he demanded money from John Feyen, the man he felt was responsible for him not being hired full-time.
Feyen showed Scarver the 15 dollars he had in his wallet. Enraged by the low amount, Scarver shot Lohman in the head, killing him instantly.
Scarver turned his attention back to Feyen, when Feyen hesitated, Scarver said,
“Do you think I’m kidding? I need more money”, before shooting Lohman’s dead body two more times. Terrified, Feyen quickly wrote and handed over a three thousand dollar check.
Scarver shot Lohman’s dead body one more time while Feyen broke away and ran. Scarver took a shot at him as he fled, but he missed.
Scarver was arrested hours later on his girlfriend’s porch. In his pockets were the $3,000 check and the gun used in the crime. In April 1992, he was sentenced to life in Prison for the murder of Lohman.
He was later diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Prison Murders
On November 28th, 1994, serial killer Jefferey Dahmer was beaten with a metal bar by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver. Another inmate, Jesse Anderson, who was in prison for killing his wife, was also attacked. Both men eventually died.
Many people applauded the murder of Dahmer. He killed 16 people over four years and 17 people overall. He dismembered bodies, drilled holes in people’s heads, and cooked and ate their bodies. He was a horrible person.
Scarver received two more life sentences for killing Dahmer and Anderson in 1994.
After the murders of Anderson and Dahmer, Scarver spent over a decade in Solitary confinement at Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin. He was then moved to a prison in Colorado, where he is serving out his sentence.
