Background
Brandon Rashad Isabelle and Danielle Hoyle both worked at FedEx. They had a relationship that resulted in Hoyle getting pregnant.
By the time Hoyle went into labour on January 30th, 2022, Isabelle had a new woman who also worked at FedEx. In addition to those two women, he had a wife with which he shared a child, however, they were seperated and going through a divorce.
The new woman Isabelle was involved with didn’t want to be involved in any baby momma drama. As he sat at the hospital with Danielle, he exchanged text messages with the new women. She was giving him indications that she couldn’t continue the relationship while he tried to convince her they could make it work. He met with the new woman the next morning and they continued to discuss the status of their relationship.
Isabelle didn’t want to lose her, and he decided murder was his best option.
Crime
He was at the hospital when his daughter Kennedy was born on January 31st, 2022. The next day, the new mom and baby were released from the hospital. According to ActionNews5, Isabelle convinced Hoyle to meet him at a convenience store in the Whitehaven neighborhood in South Memphis so he could give her some baby items, that day also happened to be his 25th birthday.
After meeting at the store, he convinced her to go down another road that was more secluded. He shot Danielle five times, dragged her out of the vehicle, and left her in a ditch.
According to WREG, he later took his newborn daughter to the north end of Mud Island, where the Wolf River enters the Mississippi River, and threw her into the water along with the murder weapon. Her body was never recovered.
After killing two people, he went to Walgreens to get gifts for the woman he had just killed to be with. According to CourtTV he also dumped his daughter’s carseat in a Wal-Mart dumpster.
Investigation
The same day Danielle was killed, a police officer saw her car on the side of the road with a broken window. When he went to investigate further, he found her dead nearby. When her family was interviewed, they revealed that she was meeting Isabelle.
Isabelle was taken into custody and still had Hoyle’s blood on his socks. He confessed to the heinous double murder on video.
Legal Proceedings
He went to trial in September and over the course of two weeks, the evidence against him was overwhelming. LocalMemphis reported that he was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated child abuse.
His lawyers wanted him to have an opportunity at parole after 50 years, and claimed he had been working to better himself in jail by taking basic electrician and plumbing courses. His lawyer also spoke of his past work at FedEx, saying he was Employee of the Year back in 2020.
According to CourtTV, the jury recommended he be sentenced to life with the possibility of parole.
The Shelby Count District Attorney announced on November 20th, 2025, that he was sentenced to 147 years in prison. He received 51 years for Danielle’s murder, 51 years for his daughter’s murder, 22.5 years for aggravated child neglect and 22.5 years for especially aggravated kidnapping.
