On the night of August 31st, 2024, in Coral Springs, Florida, a 14-year-old boy called the police and told them his mother had shot his father. Two officers arrived at the scene and removed the 14-year-old and his brother from the home.
The officers heard one last shot, and then they saw 45-year-old Denise Malcolm exit the home. She was arrested. When the officers entered the residence, they found 52-year-old Rohan Malcom dead.
Denise told detectives her husband had been messing with other women. This led to frequent fighting and to them sleeping in separate bedrooms.
On the day of the crime, Rohan told her he was going an hour and 15 minutes away to hang out with friends in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
The couple started arguing when she thought he was trying to sneak off to see another woman. After 45 minutes, Denise grabbed a gun and used it to end the marriage.
She pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 21 years in prison on June 11th, 2025.
She is incarcerated at Lowell Annex in Lowell, Florida.
Her projected release date is August 11th, 2045.
