Tammy Lynn Sytch entered the wrestling industry in 1992 as the manager of her high school boyfriend and professional wrestler, Chris Candido.
After joining the WWF, which later became the WWE, her popularity skyrocketed. She was so popular in 1996 that AOL named her the most downloaded woman. She left the WWE in 1998 and spent time in smaller organizations.
When Candido died in 2005, she spent time on the independent wrestling circuit.
Even though she only spent four years with the WWE, she was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2011.
In 2012, she began to encounter legal trouble. She was arrested 5 times in 4 weeks for burglary, disorderly conduct, and violating a protective order.
She was arrested a sixth time in January 2013, once again for violating a protective order.
She served 114 days in jail for those crimes.
Between May 30th, 2015, and June 20th, 2015, she was pulled over and arrested three times. In the first incident, she was found to have a blood alcohol level of .253 percent. After the second arrest, she was found to have a blood alcohol level of .300 percent.
On the third arrest, she was just under the legal limit at .078 percent.
She would later plead guilty to three charges. She was sentenced to 90 days in jail, but since she already spent over three months in rehab, the judge counted that as time served.
She received a DUI citation on January 23rd, 2018, and again on February 2nd, 2018. This was a probation violation that should have put her in prison for 5 years, but she was back on the streets in October 2018.
She continued to rack up charges in Pennsylvania and New Jersey over the next four years. She caught cases for eluding police, violation of a restraining order, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, terroristic threats, and several more DUIs.
Each time she would serve a year or less before being released.
On March 25th, 2022, she rear-ended a 75-year-old man’s vehicle when he was stopped at a red light in Volusia County, Florida. The man died from injuries sustained in the crash.
On May 6th, 2022, Sytch was arrested for DUI manslaughter charges after a toxicology test determined her blood alcohol level was 3.5 times the legal limit.
She was released on a $227,500 bond the next day. Six days later, her bond was revoked after a judge determined she was a threat to the community.
In August 2023, she pleaded no contest to DUI Manslaughter. She was facing up to 25.5 years in prison. On November 27th, 2023, she was sentenced to 17 years and 8 months in prison and 8 years of probation.
Her projected release date is May 6th, 2039
She will be 67 years old when she is released.
