Adrianne Reynolds was born in Kilgore, Texas, on September 12th, 1988. When she was 15, she moved to East Moline, Illinois, to live with her father and her stepmother.
Once Adrianne arrived in her new town, she didn’t attend a traditional high school; instead, she went to Black Hawk College Outreach Center to earn her GED.
She planned on joining the Marines when she turned 18, but in the back of her mind, her ultimate goal was to win American idol and become a famous singer.
Adrianne met 16-year-old Sarah Kolb and 17-year-old Cory Gregory in November 2004 at the outreach center.
She became friends with the teens, but she was attracted to Gregory and hoped they could be more than friends.
Since Kolb and Gregory had dated, Adriannes’s interest in him made her angry.
In addition to jealousy over her ex, Kolb was jealous that many other guys at the outreach center were giving Adrianne attention.
On January 21st, 2005, Kolb, Gregory, and Kolb’s boyfriend at the time, Sean McKitrick, were going out for lunch and decided to invite Adrianne.
Once inside the car, Adrianne and Kolb started arguing. Soon, things turned physical. McKitrick wasn’t a fan of the drama and left the car.
At some point, Gregory held Adrianne down while Kolb put a belt around her neck and strangled her.
The murderous duo took her body to the Aledo, Illinois, farm owned by Kolb’s grandparents. They spent hours trying to burn the body with gasoline, but the body didn’t turn to ash like they thought it would.
At the same time, Adrianne’s parents reported that she was missing after she hadn’t shown up for work at Checkers that night.
The next day, they contacted their friend, 16-year-old Nathan Gaudet, and told him they had killed someone. Instead of going to the cops, he decided to ruin his life and help them dismember Adrianne and place her head and arms in a trash bag.
Once she was all cut up, the three teens stopped at a local McDonald’s for a bite to eat.
Later, they dumped the bag in a well at a Rock Island, Illinois state park.
A day after the crime, Gregory went to his parents crying and confessed to what he had done. They took him to the police station, where he told investigators what happened, then he led them to the body.
He was arrested, and soon, so were Kolb and Gaudet.
Gaudet was charged as a juvenile with concealment. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 5 years in a juvenile facility.
He got out on November 11th, 2008. His life was cut short on April 16th, 2012, when a car he was riding in crashed into a tree. Two others died in the accident.
Kolb and Gregory were charged with first-degree murder and concealing a homicide.
Kolb went to trial on October 31st, 2005. The jury got the case after two weeks of testimony. They deliberated for 15 hours, but one juror held out, and a mistrial was declared.
At her retrial in February 2006, she was convicted of first-degree murder and concealment. Her lawyer asked for 20 years, but she received 53 years.
Gregory decided not to go to trial; he pleaded guilty to murder and concealment on July 10th, 2006, and he was sentenced to 45 years. Later, he tried to withdraw his guilty plea, but his request was denied.
While locked up Gregory has transitioned to female and now goes by the name Harli Quinn.
Kolb has taken on a more masculine look during her time in prison.
She will be eligible for parole on January 24th, 2053.
