Death of Julie Cirella

In 2011, Veronica Cirella was 31 years old with an 8-year-old daughter named Julie, who had cerebral palsy.

On July 23, 2011, Veronica gave Julie M & M with peanuts as a treat for participating in a wedding.

Veronica knew her daughter was allergic to peanuts.

Veronica wrote a note saying, “I had to give her a better life, which was to give her back to heaven.”

Veronica attempted to delete herself. She was on the ground next to her daughter’s body when her mother-in-law found the two.

Veronica was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. She was facing life in prison.

An autopsy revealed the girl died of asphyxiation. She reportedly did not have peanuts in her system. Veronica claimed to have given Julie Benadryl and injected her with an Epipen; those weren’t found in the girl’s system either.

In 2015, Veronica pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and received 12 years in prison. She got out in 2023.
