In 1985, 14-year-old Winona Fletcher was dating 19-year-old Cordell Boyd.
Boyd was a bad influence, and her lawyer claimed he was trafficking her. On April 22, 1985, the two went to a home and asked the residents to use their phone, as they were having car trouble.
Once inside, they killed 69-year-old Tom Faccio, his 70-year-old wife Ann Faccio, and Ann’s sister, 75-year-old Emilia Elliott.
The teens were soon arrested. Boyd pleaded guilty to one murder and was sentenced to 99 years.
A judge ruled that Fletcher be tried as an adult. She later pleaded no contest to 2 counts of murder. She was sentenced to 297 years in prison. Later resentenced to 135 years in prison.
In 2023, the appeals court ordered the 53-year-old to be resentenced.
In 2025, she was resentenced to 60 years. The sentence reduction made her eligible for mandatory parole. She was released from prison in September 2025
The parole board denied Boyd’s application for release in 2018. He can try again in 2028.
