In 2010 Kathleen Dorsett and her ex husband Stephen Moore were fighting for custody of their 20 month old daughter Elizabeth.
Kathleen decided she wanted the little girl all to herself, so she convinced her parents to help her get rid of Stephen.
On August 16, 2020 Stephen Moore went to the home of Kathleen’s parent to drop off Elizabeth. Kathleen lured him to the back of the property where her father snuck up on Stephen and hit him with a large metal object.
He then took a rope and strangled the 42-year-old.
They put his body in the trunk of the car Stephen was driving, then they set it on fire.
Within a week, Kathleen and her father, Thomas Dorsett, were arrested. Kathleen’s mother, Lesley, was later arrested after she paid an informant to get rid of Stephen’s mother.
Lesley received 7 years for a conspiracy conviction. Thomas was sent away for 45 years. Kathleen pleaded guilty to murder, conspiracy to disturb human remains, and attempted murder on May 09th, 2013.
She was sentenced to 58 years in prison on August 8, 2013. She will be eligible for parole in August 2057.
Her daughter is being raised by Stephen’s family.
