Crime
19-year-old Alan Abad, also known as Alina Abad, was an aspiring TikToker who lived in Westwood, New Jersey, and was transitioning to a woman.
Abad’s TikTok account had a couple of videos dancing and showing off clothing. Abad posted a video on February 15th, 2025, of her eating pizza with an aunt. The post had the caption “I love my auntie.”

Soon after that video was posted, police were sent to an apartment in Spring Valley, Rockland County, New York to do a welfare check.
Inside the residence, they found Abad’s aunts, sisters Evelyn Augilar-Agustin and Anabelly Aguillar badly beaten. According to the Rockland County DA, Evelyn had trauma to the head, face, and abdomen. Anabelly had head and neck trauma, which caused cervical spine fractures, brain injuries, and hemorrhages.
One of the women was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was taken to the hospital, where she died.
A day after the crime, Abad was arrested. ABC7NY reported she attacked her relatives to stop them from calling the police.
Legal Proceedings
The Rockland County DA announced on March 24th, 2026, that Abad pleaded guilty to a count of first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder.
Abad agreed to serve 25 years to life in a New York state prison.

Abad returned to court on June 22nd, 2026, for the official sentencing, and according to News12, the victims and district attorney wanted Abad to receive a life without parole sentence. Abad did not speak at the hearing and was given the 25-to-life sentence that was previously agreed to.
Abad is locked up at the Wende Correctional Facility in Erie County, NY. The place houses nearly 1,000 male inmates. Abad will be eligible for parole in October 2049.
