Shooting of Mark Gaughan
After receiving a call about an accidental shooting on August 23rd, 2025, police went to a home in Las Vegas, Nevada, just after 4:43 am.
According to News3lv, outside the home, they saw a man, whom they later identified as 23-year-old Mark Gaughan, lying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Authorities performed lifesaving measures until medical personnel arrived, but ultimately, Gaughan died as a result of the gunshot.
Investigation
20-year-old Allysandra Blea was the focus of the investigation right away as authorities learned Gaughan was taking photos of her as she posed with a gun.
According to News3lv, Blea told authorities she and Gaughan went to their friend’s home, and after midnight, they started drinking. Blea claimed that around 4:30 a.m., she and another female wanted to take some photos for Instagram.
According to News3lv, Polaroids at the scene showed a couple of dangerous pictures had been taken with the weapon, including one where Blea pointed the gun at her mouth with her finger on the trigger. The other woman held a knife in the photos.
Blea told authorities she never took a firearm safety course and she didn’t know the gun had a bullet in the chamber. She insisted it was an accident.
According to the NYPost, the boyfriend of the girl who wielded the knife in the photo claimed he unloaded the gun and removed the magazine before the girls took if for their photos.
The knife-wielding model told investigators that at one point, she went inside to change clothes, and when she returned, she saw the magazine had been placed back into the gun.
Blea’s Social Media
Further investigation into Blea’s social media showed she had a fascination with guns.
According to News3lv, she posted one online comment that said, “I wish I could shoot people with real guns and get away with it,” and another that said, “I had a dream I shot someone in the face last night with my revolver bc he was pointing a block at me.”
Another photo of her holding a rifle had the caption, “I like guns.”
There was also a video of her handling a gun while driving and pointing it at a bus. Based on her alleged experience with guns, authorities determined the shooting was not an accident.
Blea was arrested on August 26th. She was being charged with open murder.
Legal Proceedings
Fox4Vegas reported on June 3rd, 2026, that Blea agreed to plead guilty to first-degree kidnapping and involuntary manslaughter in the case.
Prosecutors and the defense are recommending 5 years to life for kidnapping. The sentence for the manslaughter charge is expected to run concurrently.

At her July sentencing, the judge could go beyond what the lawyers recommended, but he didn’t. According to Fox5Vegas, he gave her the agreed upon 5 years to life in prison with a concurrent 19 months for involuntary manslaughter.
He also ordered her to pay $16,085.81 in restitution. She is expected to have her first parole hearing in 2030, but the odds of her getting out at that time seem unlikely.
