Crime
Alyssa Marie Blackburn went to the Pensacola, Florida, home of her boyfriend Jesse Geoghagan on October 29th, 2022, but she wasn’t there for a good reason.
Blackburn was armed with a handgun and searched the home for him. She then exited the residence and told her accomplices, Jacob Colville, with whom she was also in a relationship, and Lawrence Bonner Jr., that he was inside.
Bonner and Colville went inside, and Colville located Geoghagan hiding in a closet and shot him twice. Geoghagan tried to run but he was shot several more times and left for dead. The crime was captured on home surveillance.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Geoghagan barely alive.
Blackburn was at the scene when the police arrived and said she had been walking a dog at the time of the shooting. She led investigators to believe it was a drive-by shooting. She immediately became a person of interest when she lied to police, saying she didn’t call 911, then quickly switched gears and admitted she had.
As she was questioned at the scene, Geoghagan was taken out of the home on a stretcher. Even though he was unconscious, the police led Blackburn to believe he was talking and could expose who shot him.
While she was being questioned at the station, the detective gave her the news that Geoghagan had passed away. She showed a bunch of fake emotion, but in the end, she couldn’t keep her story straight, and everything collapsed.
Eyewitnesses, surveillance footage, and incriminating text messages also proved her involvement. In one text, minutes before the murder, she told someone that Colville was going to kill Geoghagen.
Within a week, all three culprits were in custody.
Legal Proceeding
Colville got life without parole after being convicted of first-degree premeditated murder.
Bonner pleaded no contest to principal to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 5 years. He got a light sentence because prosecutors believe that he was unaware that Colville was planning to kill Geoghagan.
Blackburn went to trial in August 2025 and was convicted of principal to second-degree murder.
At her sentencing on October 8th, 2025, she hoped for leniency.
Her father spoke on her behalf, saying he had served prison time and, since his release two decades ago, he has stayed out of trouble.
He stated, “Like my story, she very well could have a story in the same light as a possibility.”
