Alyssa Roman allegedly barged into a neighbor’s Omaha, Nebraska home at around 5 PM on December 29th, 2023.
The residents of that home threw her out, then called the police. When authorities arrived, the home occupants described her as having pink hair and wearing a shirt and no pants. They also told police what direction she went.
Authorities looked around and spotted Roman standing in the window of a nearby home. As police approached the house, she tried to run out the back door, but was quickly apprehended.
She was taken to the hospital, but the case didn’t end there. Authorities saw blood on the walls of her place and went upstairs to find the body of her fiancĂ©, 33-year-old Air Force veteran Alan Crister, dead from a shotgun blast to the neck and torso.
Roman was questioned when she got out of the hospital. She told investigators that he didn’t shoot himself, and they were alone in the home, meaning she was the only possible culprit. She also mentioned she had taken LSD the day the body was found.
She was charged with second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony. She pleaded no contest to manslaughter on July 16th, 2025.
She was facing up to 20 years in prison.
On September 17th, 2025, he judge sentenced her to 6 to 8 years.
