Brittany Hall and her girlfriend, Celeste Owens, were staying in a Norcross, Georgia, hotel with Hall’s three children in 2021.
On November 19th, they reported that they woke up and Hall’s 8-year-old daughter, Amari Hall, was missing.
Brittany did an interview with the local news where she cried and seemed distraught, but it was all an act.
Amari was found dead near a wooded area, and as the investigation progressed, evidence against Brittany and her girlfriend piled up. They found videos on Owens’ phone of them harming the children.
The day Amari went missing, there were internet searches on Owens’ phone for “lakes near me” and “how does sewers on the streets work.”
A U-Haul rental was connected to the couple, and footage showed it being driven to the area where Amari was found.
Owens went to trial in 2024 and was convicted of murder, battery, aggravated assault, and several other offenses.
She was sentenced to life imprisonment, plus a consecutive 235-year term.
On September 24th, 2025, Brittany pleaded guilty to murder, concealing a death, making false statements, and eleven counts of cruelty to children.
She was sentenced to life in prison.
