Murder of William Tunchez
21-year-old William Tunchez was lured to a Suwanee, Georgia, neighborhood on October 8th, 2018, by Franecha Torres, a female with whom he had a romantic interest.
Instead of meeting Franecha, he was met by her two accomplices, 17-year-old Nicholas Evans and 18-year-old Khalil Miller.
They tried to rob Tunchez, but he fought back and was killed. Evans was said to be the trigger man, while Miller was said to have hit Tunchez with a stick during the attack.
Tunchez’s body was found by kids soon after the crime.
Within days, police caught the teens and linked them to several robberies over a three-day period that occurred near the murder scene. They were eventually linked to the murder.
When they were questioned, Miller and Evans confessed to their involvement, while Torres refused to give a statement.
When the trio appeared in court to learn their charges, Torres couldn’t believe that she was being charged with murder.
The video quickly went viral and has racked up 24 million views, with many commenters assuming she was surprised she was charged with murder because she didn’t pull the trigger. Miller and Evans were both charged with felony murder, armed robbery, and aggravated assault.
They also faced violations of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act after investigators determined that the trio was members of the Gangsta Disciples street gang.
Legal Proceedings
The trio remained in Gwinnett County jail for several years. According to Justia, the three were tried together in December 2023.
They were all convicted of murder and several counts of armed robbery and gang participation. All three were sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.
Torres is locked up in Pulaski State Prison.
Evans is serving his sentence at Baldwin State Prison in Milledgeville, Georgia, while Miller is incarcerated at Ware State Prison in Waycross, Georgia.
