Jennifer Crumbley the mother of the Oxford shooter was found guilty of 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter in February 2024. He husband James was found guilty of the same four charges in a separate trial weeks later.
In 2021 she and her husband gave their troubled son Ethan a weapon the day after Thanksgiving as an early Christmas present.
Jennifer later took him to a shooting range to practice. She testified her husband was responsible for securing the weapon. She also said she hid the bullets as a safety measure, but that didn’t work.
4 days after they purchased the weapon Ethan got the gun and found the bullets. He took the weapon to school and ended 4 innocent lives while also injuring 7 others.
Last year he pleaded guilty and received life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 24 years.
Both Jennifer and James were tried for 4 counts of involuntary manslaughter.
Jennifer was convicted on all counts on February 6th, 2024. James was also convicted on all counts at a separated trial which concluded on March 14th, 2024.
Both were sentenced on April 9th, 2024 to 15 years in prison. They will both be eligible for parole after serving 10 years.
Jennifer is locked up at Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility in Pittsfield Township, Michigan.
James is in Pittsfield Township, Michigan in Ionia, Michigan.
