In 2009, Jennifer Womac decided she wanted to get rid of her father 66 year 66-year-old Grady Lake Nichols Jr., so she could inherit his money.
She convinced 46-year-old Louis Landers to do the job; in exchange, he would get some of the proceeds.
They put their plan into action on September 19, 2009. Womac went to the store with her stepmother to secure an alibi.
While she was out shopping, Landers shot Nichols on the porch of his home. Womac and her stepmother found the body when they returned home and called 911, but Nichols didn’t make it.
Within days, Landers was arrested. He confessed and pointed the finger at Womac. He agreed to wear a wire in an attempt to get her to implicate herself.
She stated that she would make sure he would get every penny he was owed.
Six days after her father’s death, she was in handcuffs. Womac and Landers both pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, and both received 40 years in prison.
Womac has a projected release date of September 26th, 2043.
