Criminal Background of Josephine Gray
In 1974, Josephine Gray’s first husband, Norman Stribbling, was assassinated. Josephine was charged with taking his life, but authorities dropped the charges after several witnesses refused to testify.
Josephine had dabbled with Voodoo in the past, and the witnesses were scared she would put a spell on them.
By 1990, Josephine was married to William Robert Gray. He was killed, and Josephine was charged with his murder, but once again, witnesses were scared of her history with Voodoo and refused to come forward.
She moved on to Clarence Goode, and he ended up dead in 1996. She collected a total of $165,000 in benefits from the deaths of all three men.
She was arrested in 2001 for mail and wire fraud. At trial, the prosecutor had to prove she had a role in the men’s deaths and improperly collected benefits.
She was convicted and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
