Murder of Rebekah Campbell
Michael Ormandy fought cage fights and boxed, but in April 2025, his violence extended beyond organized matches as he went after his 32-year-old girlfriend of four months, Rebekah Campbell, with a knife inside her flat inĀ Huyton.
She was found covered in blood outside her residence and had 18 stab wounds and nine slash wounds. As first responders tried to save her, she asked, “Am I gonna die?”
Sadly, she died, and Ormandy was arrested for her murder. After his arrest, he stated, “She must have stabbed herself”.
The trial began in October 2025, with Ormandy claiming self-defense; however, he had only a small cut on his hand, so the defense was not convincing.
The prosecution claimed that Ormandy had blackened her eye 3 days before the stabbing. Hours before the stabbing, he slept with a woman and told her he had to “sort something out.”
As he was being found guilty, he ranted at the victim’s family.
Ormandy returned to court weeks later and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 24 years before he is eligible for parole.
