Michelle Paet was married to Staff Sgt. Nathan Paet and the couple had four kids, but at some point, Michelle began seeing her coworker, Michael Rodriguez.

Their affair soon turned into a murder plot that Michelle hoped would net her $650,000 in life insurance.

The two of them involved Corey Hawkins, and when Nathan entered the garage to leave for work on  December 1, 2010, two men approached him and fired shots.

Nathan stumbled back inside and collapsed while Michelle called 911.

Nathan was rushed to the hospital, where he passed away.

A witness reported seeing a black car speeding away from the area. For an unknown reason, Michelle told authorities her co-conspirator, Rodriguez, had a black car.

After more questioning and looking into text messages, authorities arrested Michelle, Rodriguez, and Hawkins.

Hawkins and Rodriguez got life without parole.

Michelle pleaded guilty to murder in October 2015. She tried to lessen her involvement, but still got life without parole when she was sentenced in March 2016.
