Killing of Jeffrey Brown

Nikole Flagg was 29 years old in 2002 when she, her husband, and another man were charged in the shooting death of 42-year-old Jeffrey Brown at his apartment in the Corryville neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, during a robbery gone wrong.

Flagg pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

When she was nearing the end of her sentence, she told prison officials via a letter that she planned to “find a group so I can give back.” She also stated, “I have hurt a lot of people, so I have a lot of making up to do.”

She didn’t live up to her word.

Murder of Myrvinia Lowe

Maurice Allen called the home of his mother, 61-year-old Myrvinia Lowe, in April 2015, but she didn’t answer. He then called her cellphone, and instead of hearing her normal voicemail message, he heard teens rapping.

Concerned, he contacted the police and requested a welfare check. When authorities went to Lowe’s Cincinnati home on April 12, 2015, they found her dead in her home.

She had been fatally stabbed, and her money, credit card, phone, and other items were gone.

Within days, Lowe’s daughter, Flagg, was arrested for the crime, with her bond set at $1 million.

Authorities believed she intended to rob her mother and killed her in the process.

The fact that she was arrested for another killing angered the family of her 2002 victim, Jeffrey Brown.

Brown’s niece, Shamez, told the media, “A nutcase like this should never be allowed out. Ten years for my uncle was clearly not enough. You get more than that for robbing a bank.”

Flagg maintained her innocence but was convicted of aggravated murder and abuse of a corpse in 2016. Before being sentenced, she stated, “I didn’t murder my mother.”

The judge sentenced her to life without the possibility of parole.
