Police got a call just after midnight on May 15th, 2021, that Yui Inoue had destroyed her ex-husband’s electronics with a meat cleaver after they had fought.
Police went to her apartment and saw that her children, 7-year-old Kai Inoue and 9-year-old Mia Inoue, were sleeping.
After the police left, Yui took the meat cleaver and used it to end both of her kids’ lives.
She cleaned up and packed something before going to a Tempe police station, where she made statements about hearing a voice and seeing blood.
Police went to her home and found the kids dead.
She went to trial earlier this year and was convicted of first-degree murder, child abuse, and disorderly conduct.
At her sentencing on May 2nd, 2025, she told he court, “My children are not dead. My parents have them. They are spending their time with my parents.”
The 44-year-old maniac was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for murder, and consecutive sentences of 30 and 5 years for child abuse and disorderly conduct.
