Crime

On February 23rd, 2022, 911 operators received an unbelievable call from a woman claiming she found the severed head of her son, Shad Thyrion, in a bucket.

Police were dispatched to the home and made contact with the caller before heading downstairs to investigate.

As they looked around, they saw blood and eventually found the head of a deceased male.

Taylor Shabusiness, an ex-girlfriend of Thyrion, quickly became the number one suspect as she was one of the last people seen with him.

Police were very familiar with the 24-year-old mother of one as she had a record that included a battery of a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, fleeing an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping, and obstructing an officer.

When they made contact with Shabusiness 90 minutes later, she had blood on her hands.

She was arrested and later confessed to the murder during interrogation.

Trial

During a pretrial hearing, she went viral after attacking her lawyer. He withdrew from the case.

She went to trial in July 2023 and went viral once again for laughing because her friend kept using the phrase “chopping it up” as he testified.

Her defense claimed she was insane, but the jury didn’t buy it and convicted her of first-degree intentional homicide and several other charges.

She was sent to Taycheedah Correctional Institution, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Prison Attack

In July 2024, she reportedly had a staple in her arm and asked for medical attention. She was taken to the medical room.

She allegedly lunged at the nurse who was trying to move the staple. A guard reported helping get the nurse out of the room, while Schabusiness is alleged to have hit the guard in the head with a metal tray.

She was pepper-sprayed.

The guard had to go to the hospital after the alleged attack.

Schabusiness reported that she attacked because the staple removal was painful.

Even though she is already serving life, she was charged for her alleged attack on the nurse and guard.

She had a court hearing in April 2025, and once again, she tried to attack her lawyer, which could lead to even more charges.

She recently pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and will be sentenced in December.
